Happy Easter 2013

This Easter was one of the best holidays I have ever had. We spent the day at my parents house celebrating Easter, planting in the garden, and just enjoying each others company. My son had a wonderful time hunting for eggs with his much older cousins.

I was looking at pictures of him from Easter's past, and it is just amazing to me how much he has grown. This year was loads of fun! He ran with the other kids, and I could hear squeals of delight as he found each egg.

I will miss him being the small baby that he was, but am enjoying watching him grow into a rough and tumble little boy. He was really excited about Easter this year and was already asking me the day after if the Easter Bunny was going to be coming soon.

So there were three books left in my son's Easter basket this year. The bad thing is I have laryngitis (again) and have not gotten to read the new books to him properly. (Laryngitis is a bad thing when you love to read aloud.) So we have whispered our new books.

Tasha Tudor's A Tale For Easter was the only Easter related book we received this year. As with anything Tasha Tudor related, it is truly lovely with it's simple story and old fashioned illustrations. My son did let me read this to him once on Easter night, but unfortunately it was quickly ousted for Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker and Tom Litchtenheld which my son has been obsessed with ever since the first time we got it from the library after it first came out.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter. I will try and post more soon as I have tons of wonderful books to share with you, and blog posts swirling around in my head with no time to write them down. Someday soon I hope. Until then... Happy Reading!

  1. Oh, how lovely! I haven't seen that one yet. Truth is, I can't get many Tasha Tudor books from our library, and I haven't purchased many. Your eggs are so pretty! I'm so glad you had a great Easter. Hope your voice is back soon!

  2. Thanks Danzel! I hope you had a wonderful Easter too! I loved your Easter bonnet(I'm an Instagram stalker, what can I say?) and your girls were just so pretty in their Easter dresses! Tasha Tudor is wonderful! If you can find any of her books, then grab them up. Right after Christmas I found her advent calander at the thift store for sixty nine cents. At the time it was going for over a hundred dollars online. You just never know what you are going to find! Have a wonderful day!
