Exploring Seeds

Today we explored seeds...

Sunflower, Pumpkin, Avocado and various Beans

We used a lovely book by Dianna Hutts Aston and Sylvia Long as reference...

A Seed Is Sleepy

We love this book, it is beautifully illustrated.

Things We Learned....

Seeds can be all different shapes and sizes.

Other Things We Experienced...

My son trying his first sunflower seed. (He loved it!)

  1. I love that book!!! I only own A Rock is Lively, which I hope to use this summer out on walks. What a sweet activity!

  2. Danzel, I have not read any of the other books yet but plan to check them out from the library. I can't believe summer is almost here!

  3. Gorgeous book! We have An Egg is Quiet, which is not only lovely but also much enjoyed by the Wee One, but I never knew that they had done one on seeds. Must add it to the library list pronto:)
Have you read Zinnia's Flower Garden by Monica Wellington? It's another fun one about starting seeds and gardening with oodles of bright colors and photo collage work.

  4. Becca, I have seen Zinnia's Flower Garden while browsing online for books, but have not read it yet. I am going to get it now! My son has been interested in planting a garden, especially since we have been working in my parents garden this spring. I bought a few packets of seeds for him that we are going to plant this weekend. He was so excited about the seeds, that he had to have them right next to him while he was sick! Have a wonderful evening! Rachel
