Books I Should Have Read...

The weather here is beautiful! I am dreading the heat which is just right around the corner. We are enjoying the spring like weather while we can.

I am about halfway through Lois Lenski's Strawberry Girl. I am really, really enjoying it. How did I miss reading this wonderful book? How have I missed out on so many wonderful books? I have resolved to start adding books to my to-read-pile that I should have read as a young girl.

So you'll probably see me sitting at my desk at work, reach into my sleek (ummm, very professional) black handbag at luncheon, and pull out a tattered copy of Ramona The Pest. Just wink and smile, and know that I am just catching up on some very overdue reading.

  1. You're not alone:) I have a huge hoarded TBR pile of books I wished I had read as a child too. Technically they are waiting for my daughter to enjoy when she is old enough but the truth is (shhh, don't tell) they are for ME to enjoy on the sly beforehand:)
I might be a grown mama myself these days, but somewhere inside, there is still a nine year old girl who finds them every bit as thrilling as I would have in childhood.
    Thanks for sharing:)

    1. Becca, Thanks for stopping by! I am so glad that I am not the only person who feels this way. I just wish my parents had hoarded books for me, then maybe I wouldn't have had to wait until I was in my thirties to enjoy books that I should have discovered long ago. (Or maybe this was their evil plan all along.) Have a great day!

  2. I do this, too. There are a lot of books I wish I'd read. I'm getting impatient waiting for my girls and me to read them together, and besides, they should discover them on their own, right? So I'm reading them without them.

    1. Danzel, Sometimes I have to slow down and remember that my son is three, not seven. Someday we will read all the books, but for now I am enjoying the cute little picture books and a few chapter books that we have read together. So what if I read ahead a little??? Right???

  3. I don't think I'll ever read all the books I want to have read... just keep reading, just keep reading. :)

    1. Robyn, Thanks for stopping by! You are right, we never will read all the books we want to, but we will just have to keep on reading!
